From The Producing Artistic Director

One of my favorite things about my job as Artistic Director is developing new seasons.  We have a great team of dedicated artists on our play reading committee who read dozens of plays every year to help me pare the list down to a manageable level.  I can’t possibly thank them enough for their hard work.  But ultimately, both the pressure and privilege of finalizing each season rests with me.

We try to come up with better seasons every year…which keeps getting harder.  But here we are…our 2024-25 season is ready to launch and it’s one of the most exciting slates of plays we’ve ever put together.  Each one will be brand new to the Greater Cincinnati area…fresh, new, powerful and provocative!

Last year’s season was focused on Identity…this year’s scripts all play on the theme of chaos!  From the chaos of dark minds, to the changes that alter our lives irrevocably, to the outrageous (and farcical) inner workings of the White House, this season offers drama, mystery, comedy and pathos.  You won’t want to miss a single show! I am honored by the hard work and artistry of the wonderful people who choose to share their talents and passion with us at Falcon Theatre.  And I’m thrilled have this wonderful season to offer these artists and you, our amazing and supportive audience.  Now, please sit back, relax and enjoy…our 2024-2025 season.

Sincerely,
Ted Weil
Producing Artistic Director

Cast Biographies

Mark Bowen (Arthur/Doctor): Mark is delighted to return to the Falcon stage and have the opportunity to bring Martin McDonagh’s script to life with this talented cast and creative team. In addition to his work at Falcon you may have seen Mark in a Clifton Performance Theatre production or in a Fringe show at Know Theatre. Thanks to Samantha Ted, Jordan and Kate as well as the rest of the crew for taking care of the details so we can feel at home at our little pub in Oldham. Additionally Mark wishes to thank the entire Cincinnati area theater community. Both patrons and performers keep it creative and vibrant.  As always, gratitude to Edna and Linda and a very special thanks to Kathleen.

Ryan Bowron (Bill/Guard): Ryan is stoked to appear as the “lovable” crony, Bill, in his first show at Falcon. He has really enjoyed working with such talented new collaborators and is excited to appear before new audiences. He has performed in many shows over the past few years in the Cincinnati area including with the Cincinnati Fringe Festival, Mariemont Players, Beechmont Players, and Village Players. Some favorites include Cyrano on the Moon, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, The Gods of Comedy, and The Outsider. Outside of theater, Ryan enjoys going to see (and occasionally performing) live music, playing on a badass trivia team (that’s not an oxymoron), and indulging in the masochistic practice of Cincinnati sports fandom. He gives much thanks and love to his incredible friends and family for all their support.

Linda Callahan (Alice): Linda Callahan (Alice): Linda is delighted to be returning to Falcon Theater to play a Brit for a second time. She is incredibly grateful to Ted, Samantha and the entire cast and crew for making this such a wonderful experience. Linda is a member of Cincinnati LAB Theatre, which supports and develops new playwrights, and has performed with many theater companies around town. Favorite roles include Sara Turing in Breaking the Code for Falcon Theater, Kate in Broadway Bound for Mariemont Players and Evelyn in Ghost of a Chance for Cincinnati LAB. She sends her love to her husband and son for their never ending support.

Matt Flannery (Mooney): Matt is 23 years old from Dayton, Ohio, and plans to continue his career as an actor, writer, and film director in Austin, Texas. Matt began acting in 2023 at the University of Kentucky, learning and training under the mentorship of Peter Allen Stone and Jeremy Brown Gillette. There, he performed in two mainstage shows: Little Women (directed by Christina Ritter) and Fairview (directed by Jeremy Brown Gillette), and wrote, directed, and performed in Saturday Night, a short film. Matt is thankful for the incredible opportunity to work with talented artists and people at Falcon Theatre.

Em Ivanov (Shirley): Em is excited to make their debut at Falcon Theater and share the space with such talented artists. Favorite acting credits include The Wolves (#25), The Crucible (Mary Warren) and Izzy Icarus Fell Off the World (Izzy). They are a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a BA in History and a certificate in Screenwriting. After practicing law for 20 years, Darren is currently a contractor in real life.

Other recent credits include a trio of Shakespeare shows (Coriolanus, The Tempest, andMacbeth), Janitor’s ClosetSerials!, and The Oresteia. Dylan is fairly local, having participated in Theater Xavier and the CCM Certificate Program before attending Washington University in St. Louis. When he’s not onstage, he can be found working in Finance for Procter & Gamble.

Gabe Schenker (Charlie/Guard): Gabe is stoked to make his Falcon Theatre debut! By day he works at UC’s College of Pharmacy, and outside work he enjoys participating in various theatre/music activities, playing and watching a ton of soccer, and running/hiking. He’s also a part-time MBA student at UC and is grateful this show fits snugly between fall and spring semesters. Previous credits around Cincinnati include the title role in Pippin (Footlighters), Mr. Green in Clue: The Musical, Slank/Hawking Clam in Peter and the Starcatcher (Incline), and various roles in Bright Star (Covedale). Thanks to Ted and Sam for the opportunity, friends and family for the support, and everyone reading this for supporting the arts!
