From The Producing Artistic Director

Every year, as I put together this message, I look back at what I wrote the previous year.  Most years my comments are all about our season and what we’ve built for the year ahead and while that’s still true, the world in which we’re living has changed.  Our world is darker and more dangerous now.  We’re standing on a precipice at this moment in American history and only the future will tell us how we, as a country and a people, will choose to respond.

As I look at the plays we’ve selected for our 2025-26 season, they all reflect this world in some way.  Every play in our season is, again, a premiere for the Greater Cincinnati area with several of these titles coming from across the Atlantic.  Yet despite some plays being written in different countries, they all speak loudly and clearly about the challenges and dangers we face in America right now.

The topics are wide ranging…from gun violence to ecological issues…from historical perspectives to future times we can only imagine…but each one in its own way addresses something urgent and important that’s facing us right now.

However this is not a season of doom…far from it!  It’s an exciting, energized season of plays that explore powerful topics in fascinating, often funny or even absurdist ways.  Theatre has never been more important than it is right now and each play we’ve selected for this season contains a message of past, present and future that speaks to current events while at the same time transcending them.

Welcome…to Falcon’s 2025-2026 season!

Sincerely,
Ted Weil
Producing Artistic Director

Cast Biographies

Samantha Joy Weil (Juliet): Samantha holds a B.F.A. in theatre performance from Northern Illinois University. While at school there, she had the chance to study abroad at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj, Romania with playwright, András Visky.  His view of theatre’s potential to facilitate shared experience had a huge impact on Samantha as a performer and artist.  She is deeply moved and humbled to have the chance to share András Visky’s Juliet with local audiences.

Some of Samantha’s favorite past roles include Stephanie in POTUS, Lisa in Well and Gretchen in Boeing, Boeing and Eden in During/After. She wrote, produced and performed Meet Me at the BathtubThe short life and tumultuous times of Charlotte Corday for Cincy Fringe 2024. Sam recently made her directorial debut with Hangmen at Falcon Theatre alongside her best friend, hero and husband.  You can see her again on Falcon Theatre’s stage in March in Crocodile Fever. Sam will also be directing A Girl in School Uniform (walks into a bar) this winter at Falcon. She is passionate about folk herbalism and her dog, Nellie Bly.  Sam would like to thank her family for always putting in extra to support and cheer her on.  She is infinitely grateful to her amazing husband, Ted, for his unwavering love and ability to make every moment brighter.

Production Team Biographies

Zoë Peterson (Director): Zoë is an actor and award-winning playwright currently based in Cincinnati, Ohio. While here, Zoë earned a BFA in Acting from CCM at the University of Cincinnati, in addition to a Minor in English and Screenwriting Certificate. Beyond CCM, Zoë has premiered works at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival and Serials! At the Know, as well as many ten-minute play festivals in their hometown of Louisville, KY.  Zoë’s favorite pastime is making puppets for their recurring interactive horror-comedy series, Sally Salem. When not covered in fake blood or hot glue, Zoë works in theatre education for companies like Cincinnati Shakespeare, CAPA, and Kids Act Out; facilitating classes on acting and writing. A character-driven artist with a particular interest in new works, horror and classical theatre, Zoë often gets involved with genre-bending or absurdist projects.
