From The Producing Artistic Director

The past 2 years have been incredibly challenging for everyone and few industries have struggled more than the arts.  But here we are.  Many of us survived and found ways to stay creative.  There was a cost, without question, but to every other arts organization who is still here and still bringing passion and humanity to life through creative expression, Falcon lifts a glass in respect, honor and kinship.

Falcon’s unofficial theme for this season is “Fill the Space” and that has many meanings.  Falcon, as with many other theaters, is still seeing smaller audiences than we did in early 2020 so, yes, we want to make sure we’re filling seats in our theater.  But “Fill the Space” is a much broader goal.  We want to fill our space with the conversations, emotions and connections that audiences and artists share when we meet in a dark theater and travel to a different world for a short time.  Theatre unites people in a way nothing else can…it gives us a glimpse into the minds, hearts and lives of others.  And there has never been a time in history when that has been more important than it is today.

We also want to “Fill the Space” with new ideas.  Theatre is about creativity and Falcon has always been dedicated to encouraging creativity and originality.  Our season this year is what we always strive for…a unique collection of work that offers a vast universe of experiences for our artists and our audiences.

And, of course, we want to “Fill the Space” with you….our dedicated audience of fans who love what we do. So this year, when you come to Falcon, help us not only share with you, our life-long friends, but help us make new friends.  Bring someone with you…maybe even someone who has never experienced the transformative power of a live theatre production.  Together we will ensure that the arts thrive in Newport and that this region continues to grow as a home for working, professional artists.

Together we will fill this space with ideas, friends, innovation and joy.  Welcome to Falcon Theatre.

Sincerely,
Ted Weil
Producing Artistic Director

Cast Biographies

Eileen Earnest (Solo Performer): Eileen Earnest is so grateful to share this beautiful story with you. Her previous Falcon Theatre credits include Squeaky Fromme in Assassins and Clown 2 in 39 Steps. While Eileen calls Cincinnati home, she has performed all over the country as an actor, singer, and improviser. She is one half of the sketch comedy team, Two Sketchy Dames, a member of ComedySportz Cincinnati, and a Red Nose Doc for Healthy Humor LLC. During the pandemic, she joined the American Sign Language Interpreter Training Program at Cincinnati State and plans to graduate in the fall. She also runs half marathons and loves Junior Mints. And, she’s standing right behind you. Just kidding. She thanks her creative and collaborative team on this production, especially her director, Tracy. She also thanks you for supporting live theatre. This much and more to Dad, Scott, Ren, and Kohl. Wanna know about Eileen’s upcoming work? Visit her website at http://www.eileen-earnest.com

Evan Blanton: (Sam): Evan is thrilled to be back ‘onstage’ at Falcon, even if it’s been a secret this whole time! His previous Falcon experience include: A Small FireRabbit HoleStriking Twelve, and It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Drama. Evan has worked with several groups across the city since graduating with his BA from Morehead State in 2012. Credits include: Next to Normal (Dr. Madden, Footlighters), Something Rotten! (Minstrel, Footlighters), The 39 Steps (Clown 2, Stage Right Musical Theatre), Rock of Ages (Franz, Cincinnati Landmark Productions), and The Foreigner (Ellard, Beechmont Players). He would like to thank his wife Tabitha for her constant love and support, and the team at Falcon for allowing the opportunity to return to one of his favorite theatres.

Anna Hazard (Mrs. Patterson): Anna is a local actor who was seen most recently in Gods of Comedy (Mariemont Players), Francine’s Will (The Drama Workshop), The Old Man and The Old Moon (Dayton Theatre Guild), and Red Speedo (Falcon Theatre). Anna is glad to be part of this outstanding production. Next up:  Twelfth Night at Loveland Stage Company!

Production Team Biographies

Amy Enzweiler (Stage Manager): Amy is delighted to return to the Falcon Theatre booth. While studying at NKU, and since graduating in 2018 with her BFA in Stage Management, Amy has stage managed a dozen productions for Falcon, including: The Pillowman, The Exonerated, Marjorie Prime, Red Speedo, and The Half-Life of Marie Curie.

Tracy M. Schoster (Director): I wanted to do this play from the moment I read it several years ago. It’s not only a beautiful, poignant, reminder of the brilliant things we have around us each and every day of our lives that we often take for granted, but also, how difficult and painful the truth can sometimes be. Our ability to handle life’s highest highs, lowest lows and everything in between is a window into the resilience, strong or fragile, of our minds ability to handle what life lays out before us. Previous directing credits include Yankee TavernRabbit Hole and The Cover of Life among others. A local award winning/nominated actress, Tracy was last seen on stage as Hertha Aryton in The Half Life of Marie Curie. Previous acting roles include Roberta Paul in the world premiere of Cincinnati King (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park) a role which she originated, Eleanor of Aquitaine (The Lion in Winter), Mag Folan (The Beauty Queen of Lenane) and Kate Jerome (Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound) among many, many others. Thank you to my Girls: The Brilliance of your friendship is boundless. Your love and light have shown me a path I thought was long forgotten. Thank you to my Family: Your unwavering love and steadfast support is both humbling and inspiring. Truly Brilliant Things.  The journey is just beginning…
