2015-2016 Season

From The Artistic Director

Each season at Falcon brings something new:  new challenges, order new friends, new opportunities.  Last season we celebrated Falcon’s 25th year of producing great theater.  And it was definitely a season of new and exciting things.

In October, 2014, we purchased our theater home in Newport. This gives us a permanent space and opens up a multitude of possibilities for us. We’ve been doing so much work on the building to make a better theater experience for our patrons. We’ve completed our Riser Raiser project that includes brand new seating, carpeting and audience elevation to make everyone more comfortable. We’ve also overhauled our lobby including a new box office and concession area that features beautiful custom cabinetry and other environmental improvements.

2015-2016 will be another season of continuing new adventures for our theater. Plans include refurbishing the restrooms, expanding the actor’s dressing room and making our storage and work areas more efficient.

Of course, it’s not just about the work happening on the facility. At Falcon, it’s always about the work being done on stage and this season will feature some remarkable plays. We open with the absurdly funny SILENCE! The Musical, a spoof of The Silence of the Lambs. The Mystery Plays takes us to a place where two bizarre stories overlap in a world reminiscent of The Twilight Zone. To lighten your heart over the winter, we feature Craig Lucas’ popular, beautiful love story with a twist, Prelude To A Kiss. The Beauty Queen of Leenane is a critically acclaimed drama that explores the complicated relationship between mother and daughter in a lonely Irish town. And we close our season with Geoffrey Nauffts’ finely crafted tale about love, loss and identity, Next Fall.

As you can see, we have many new things to share with you at Falcon this season! We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished over our 25-year history, but more than that, we’re excited about our future and all that we have in store. We invite you to join us on this amazing journey and share with us our Passion for Performance.
