HeatThumbnailJohn Ball’s classic novel and the basis for the 1967 Academy Award winning film

Adapted by Matt Pelfrey from the book by John Ball

The battle for civil rights in the deep south was different from the rest of the nation.  When Virgil Tibbs, a successful, black homicide detective from Los Angeles gets caught up in a homicide investigation in Argo, Alabama, he discovers just how different this world is.  A gripping detective thriller in its own right, this play shows the ugly side of race relations in the south of the early 60s.
